Scholarship & Grants
Since its inception, the “Mandali” has promoted education mainly by way of scholarships and grants to deserving and needy Goud Saraswat Brahmin students. Some of these were instituted way back in the early 19th century while others were founded more recently, a proof of its continuous efforts to bring about social and economic development through a literate, enlightened and empowered populace.
Loan Scholarship for courses in India:
The Mandali also gives loan scholarship to needy students of Saraswat Community for Post Graduate Courses in India.
Foreign Loan Scholarship:
The Mandali grants a foreign loan scholarship upto 6 lakhs per student. Aimed at enabling higher education for the brightest and best students, shortlisted candidates included students who had graduated from premier educational institutes. The scholars will be pursuing their post-graduation in subjects ranging from Computer Science, Engineering, MBA, Law, Public Policy and Economics, Medicine etc.
The selection committee was positive that the students will carve their niche and contribute towards a better tomorrow by giving back to the nation.
Eligibility Criteria:
Students of schools and colleges of GSB community in India are awarded free scholarship from standard 1st at school level up to the Degree/ graduate level. Freeship is granted to needy and deserving students of Saraswat community, whose parents are unable to fully meet student’s expenses on education. The Mandali presently does not give free scholarship to post graduate courses (M.A., M.Sc., MCA, MBA etc)
Application forms shall be available at Mandali’s office or may be downloaded from website. Filled in application form along with supporting enclosures must reach the office by the due date as stated above in this form, only by post/ by hand delivery. The form is revised each year as necessary. Application Form of previous years in NOT valid this year.

– FOR PUC I & II / JR.COLLEGE 31st OCTOBER 2023
– FOR DEGREE (BA / BSc / B.Com) & Diploma 31st OCTOBER 2023
– FOR BE / BArch / BPharm / MBBS etc. 31st OCTOBER 2023
ACTION PLAN
1. Resource mobilisation:
The Mandali’s Managing Committee has plans to mobilize, substantial resources in
the form of larger Endowments and donations from individuals and institutions in
India and abroad :
- Existing Donors, Life Members and Patrons
- Enroll new / potential individuals as Patrons and request them for Endowments / donations on a regular basis , at least over the next five years.
- Enrolling the Mandali’s past scholars as Patrons and seek their active participation in the Mandali’s endeavours to reach a wider section of the GSB community for enhancing the Corpus through Endowments / Donations.
- Approach the CORPORATE BODIES to adopt the Mandali for financial support under the CSR scheme, EVERY YEAR.
2. Scaling up of disbursement:
It has been Mandali’s continuous effort to give free scholarships to the needy and deserving students. The annual disbursement of scholarship is Rs. 26, 50,000/- in the year 2018-19. This growing trend has one DARK CLOUD over it, caused by the slide in the interest rates in recent times. But it is our hope that substantial growth of the Corpus by way of funds inflow as Endowments and donations will help to scale up the per capita and also increase the number of student beneficiaries year on year.
3. Creating awareness about The Mandali:
The Mandali’s efforts to reach larger section of the public continues not only within India but also beyond the shores where there are many institutions who are willing to donate to NGOs like
the Saraswat Vidyarthi Sahayak Mandali. We have an impressive history of performance and high credibility of the Mandali, for utilizing the funds towards the sole objective only for education of the underprivileged students of Saraswat Community.
